  Wife of jazz musician Jimmy Garrison, she studied with Dan Wagoner, Jimmy Truitt, Thelma Hill and Viola Farber, danced with Marilyn Woods' Celebration Company and Elaine Summers Dance. She developed an original approach to choreography through improvisation and collaboration with jazz musicians. Arriving in Italy in 1979, she decided to settle in Rome, where she intensified her relationship with jazz music, collaborating with numerous musicians and founding her Every Day Company in 1981. At the same time she devoted herself to teaching, introducing her interpretation of the Cunningham technique to Italy. She taught at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome, was a guest teacher at the Centro Italiano Danza and in 1988 founded the Dance Department at St. Stephen's School (Rome).
