Dancer, choreographer, pedagogue, thinker, writer. Dominique Dupuy dedicated his eclectic mind to the development of French Contemporary Dance since the Fifties, founding with his wife Françoise one of the most charismatic couples of theatre in France. Together they promoted the creation of new expressive codes, trained several actual dance artists and created over fifty choreographies, theatre plays and operas. As a very active promoter of cultural projects, Dupuy founded in Fontvieille the “Le Mas de la Dance” Association, Center for the Study and Research on Contemporary Dance; he published and directed for several years the magazines “Marsyas” and “Quant a la danse”. Now, approaching his eighties, he's one of the most respected representatives of European dance theater.

Abstract

Dominique Dupuy, dancer and choreographer, renowned Father of Modern Dance in France, presents his intimate and poetic meditations about the “state of life” of the dancer in the moment of creation and of artistic presentation of a dance solo.
