Éden Peretta
PhD in Theatrical Studies at Music and Spectacle Department of the University of Bologna. He is a professor and researcher at Performing Arts Department (DEART) from Institute of Philosophy, Art and Culture of the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), in Brazil. His main field of work includes relationships between dance and society, as well as studies about the body and training for actors. Together with his group of research, named "Anticorpos" (Antibodies), he is developing practical and theoretical investigations centered on Contemporary and Butoh dances. He has published several essays about dance, body, epistemology and education in related journals and scientific congresses. Currently, his doctoral has resulted into a book entitled "O soldado nu – origens da dança Butô" (The naked soldier - origins of butoh dance). The book is in press, and will be available through the publisher Perspectiva (São Paulo, 2012).

Abstract

Collection of fragments of Kazuo Ohno's thought with the aim of thank him for the artistic and philosophical heritage that he left to the worldwide dance.
