La critica e la nuova danza in Italia. Alcune riflessioni sugli anni Ottanta e un’ipotesi di ricerca attuale

Abstract

This contribution builds on the work done during my PhD thesis on the new dance in Italy in the eighties. Starting from the studies carried out, from the ideas, discussions with artists and colleagues, which occurred during the trip, I intend to expose some of the considerations that emerged and only partially organized in the elaboration of the final thesis. Voluntarily keep these considerations in their draft status informal as it is subject to revision, of necessary verifications, the possibility of a continuation of the research. The project revolves around a question: how to act in the role of critic than the “new dance” and “how to observe”. At first I linger around the eighties as a stage where historical than artistic phenomenon that was felt in particular the urgent need for a reconsideration of the parameters themselves observing, know, interpret and evaluate. In the second stage, placed as far from stabilized some questions and methodological issues, to expose a few perspectives that are presented with the idea of setting up a “critical Observatory” on contemporary dance.
