In June 2015 Giulia Taddeo received her Ph.D in Cinema Music and Theatre Studies from the Department of Arts at the University of Bologna with a dissertation titled All’opera ha fatto seguito il ballo: danza e stampa nell’Italia fascista. She was research resident at the Giorgio Cini Foundation (Venice) in 2013 and she spent a period of research at the Dance Division of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts thanks to a “Marco Polo Scholarship” awarded by the University of Bologna. She participated at national and international conferences and she published essays in academic revues, among which Il posto del corpo. Anton Giulio Bragaglia teorico di danza tra le due guerre (“Danza e Ricerca. Laboratorio di studi, scritture, visioni”, n. 4, 2013). Since 2011 she is member of the editorial staff of “Danza e Ricerca” founded and directed by Eugenia Casini Ropa and she is also member of AIRDanza – Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca sulla Danza (since 2013).

Abstract

The article contains the bibliography of primary sources at the basis of the Giulia Taddeo Ph.D dissertation titled All’opera ha fatto seguito il ballo: danza e stampa nell’Italia fascista,discussed at the Department of Arts of the University of Bologna in June 2015. The introductory essay aims to show some essential features of Italian journalistic discourse on dance both in linguistic, stylistic and aesthetical terms.
