Chilean Scenic Dance and Patricio Bunster’s Legacy: Between the Search for a National Language and Cultural Transfers

This article examines the circulation of influences and the search for an own language in the context of Chilean scenic dance. The aim is to observe, specifically through the work of the choreographer Patricio Bunster, the exchanges between the forms of scenic dance coming from European tradition and the recently arise Chilean scenic dance. This study has an ideological link to the concept of post-identity, to the situation of exile and to a sort of imaginary identity produced by the distance.
