The purpose of the present study is to research eighteen months of Salvatore Viganò’s activity during September 1815 to march 1817, in Naples, under Domenico Barbaja’s direction. This period is traditionally considered as a secondary phase of the choreographer’s activity. During my research in the Napoli’s ‘Archivio di Stato’, I found many interesting documents attesting connections, official reports and correspondences with Viganò, the Theatre Supervisor, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Royal family, too. This paper aims to demonstrate that the presence in Naples of Viganò and Pallerini, wasn’t insignificant for the further activity at Milan’s Scala Theatre. The intense napolitan theatrical productions were also contributing factors for the big success of the his last ballets.
