Professional dancer of classical and contemporary dance, Susana Zimmermann was born and trained in Argentina. She studied with choreographers such as Kurt Joos, Mary Wigman, Dore Hoyer, Harold Kreutzberg in Gemany and Maurice Bejart in Belgium. Since the 1960s she did worked intensively as a choreographer in Argentina and abroad, particularly in Italy, creating over 70 choreographies, includingfor theater, opera and television. She has been a dance consultant for the Argentine Ministry of Culture and is responsible for the dance sector at the Teatro Nacional Cervantes in Buenos Aires. She is the author of the book El Laboratorio de Danza y Movimiento Creativo, Editorial Lumen-Humanitas, Buenos Aires 1983. Abstract

Trough the paper Around the dance and the non professional movement the Argentinian choreographer and pedagogue Susana Zimmermann remembers her own first and precocious experiences of dance laboratory with not professionals, conceived and realized by her in the Sixties and Seventies.
